Dark Chocolate Bark

Fill your tummy with chocolatey goodness that is delicately topped with all of your favourite flavours!

Dessert is said to be the perfect conclusion to any meal, yet oftentimes it is an unnecessarily indulgent add-on filled with refined sugars and processed foods. However, it does NOT need to be avoided altogether..

By incorporating the goodness of quality dark chocolate and toppings in their most wholesome form, we can get a lil creative and encourage women to feel less controlled by food and a lot more excited!

Ideas such as this aid us in transforming our habits to integrate healthier options that are both nourishing and delicious!

Recipe

  • 6 blocks of quality dark chocolate (I love Loving Earth and Lindt 85%)

Toppings of your choice such as:

  • Macadamia and rose petal

  • Goji, shredded coconut and dried apricot

  • Lavender, crystallized ginger and orange zest

  • Pistachio, cranberry and shredded coconut

  • Maple roasted pecan and sea salt

  • Buckwheat groats and sour cherry

Method

  • Pre-chop all bark toppings

  • Line 2x baking trays with grease proof paper

  • Break apart the chocolate into a glass bowl and place the bowl over a simmering pot of hot water. Stir until melted*

  • Spread the chocolate evenly over the 2 trays, smoothing with a spatula

  • Scatter the toppings across the chocolate (I recommend splitting two toppings per tray to create four distinct flavours)

  • Place the trays in the fridge to cool for 15 minutes

  • Break the bark into smaller pieces and store in an airtight container (if there is any leftover..)

*Do not take your eyes off this process as burnt chocolate is ughhhhh

I am super excited as this simple little recipe was also featured in the latest North Journal that "aims to bring culturally connected people together on a local and international scale."

After all, if dessert is the ultimate conclusion to a meal, then it simply must be had!

Makes approximately 30 shards of bark
